Smart-Resins Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I recently got in a fairly nice kit that was unpainted and all but complete. A wonderful model to restore. it even all dismantled very nicley since everything was hot glued on!! However, my question is I have gobs of hot glue on some of the engine parts and a few other parts, but primarily inside the body. How do I remove this hot glue easily without ruining the body? Any help is greatly appreciated! jody

Another possibility is to put it in the freezer. That will make the glue super hard and it might come loose like it does tube cement. Is it worth a shot? Gary
Smart-Resins Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 anything that wont hurt the plastic is worth a shot! Thanks. Jody
MikeMc Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I've used it a lot and if you freeze it and GENTLY flex things you can usually pop it off. If its on thick stick a pick it it and lightly pop it off... heat will not get it all off and you end up melting things...been there, done that!!
