Roadkill2525 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Another Tamiya full detail kit, will be using some of the goodies from the 300ZX build as well. Starting with the stock kit and using parts from the Calsonic Group A kit I got from Mr. Handley. I did a quick mock-up of the RB26DETT It'll have some Work Meister S1 wheels
crazyjim Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Do either of those kits have left hand drive?
B_rad88 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 wow, that looks sweet! i love the rims too! can't wait to see it finished! Nissan never produced any left hand drive Skylines until the R35 cool build! i've built the Calsonic car before, but never the stock one. the only thing bothersome about these kits is the lack of complete intake and intercooler plumbing. it's up to you to make it yourself. Dave and Dave, sorry if i sound rude when saying this, but thats where your wrong. there have been several R33's and R34's i have seen in japanese & aussie mags that have the LHD dash and everything. it might be a conversion, but they are true LHD cars! even thought i kinda think its stupid, but hey its kinds cool at the same time to have a rare LHD skyline! and also the R35 isn't called a "skyline" anymore, its just called a R35 GT-R, thats it. i am not tring to be mean, in anyway when typing this, but i am only stating facts, and info! thats all!
crazyjim Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Hey guys, sorry but I don't know you're talking about. I normally don't build "metric" kits but I love the lines of that Skyline car. The cooler & plumbing don't matter to me because there'd be some Detroit muscle under the hood and some large meat at each corner. I didn't buy the AMT Part Pack and 8 Revell engines for nothing you know. All I want to do is get is a Skyline or whatever number it is, with the steering wheel on the left side where it belongs. I'll keep reading what you guys come up with. Yo Dave - you had another post about a surf kit and I asked about the pics but never got an answer. If you get a chance could you look at the post and let me know? Appreciate it.
Nick F40 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 hey your just a tad further than I am All Skylines were RHD, if they are LHD, they were converted, a Skyline in the states is a feat and the only one with it is the R35, like Dave said It's funny because transmissions were made for....left hand drive
Patrick2005 Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 It is true no production Skyline was ever made LHD from the factory, not saying that they couldn't have been altered afterwards though. I read up aon it online and you can't even get an R34 in the states and have it be street legal because of all the government red tape. Stuff about emissions and mostly crash testing that was never done because the car was never meant to come here in the first place. Kinda sucks, I love those cars.
wgflatliner Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 i was just wondering if you happened to have a part number for either of those skylines? preferably the one on the bottom.
jbwelda Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 nice mike, hey bring that tamiya black one to the meeting tuesday! i dont think ive ever seen a tamiya full detail skyline!
