Unfortunately, I can't even remember which minivan kit (Honda, Toyota, etc) the tires come in. About all I can recall regarding SAE's kit review was the fact that the mfr tooled up 4 Radial T/As for it. The author indicated that the tires were well crafted as far as tread and sidewall accuracy. If someone here has this kit, I'd appreciate it if you could post some close-up pics of the tires.

i'm not sure about Radial T/A's but there was a kit that had Nascar style rims with Bridgestone's. maybe that's the kit you are thinking about?

Nope. As I mentioned in the original post, my only interest in the kit was the tires, and that was strictly because they were BF Goodrich Radial T/As. I remember thinking it was a strange choice of tire for a Japanese kit mfr to include in a minivan kit. I'm hoping they're good enough to fit on one of my current projects.

PS I'm not interested in the MPC versions. They look like a Chinese knock-off done from a child's drawing. The AARI versions capture the tread and sidewall detail fairly well, but are too large to look in scale on most 1/25 scale kits. JMHO...

it makes sense that they would be in a kit of an American subject. i know there have been several variations and versions done of the Astro van, never knew that they had BFG's in them.

if you do find a set or if someone has some they'd be interested in posting pics of i'd like to see them. those tires are an important detail of the Mad Max Interceptor and may be something worth looking into for that build. i have the ARII sets and they are nice, but i'm still interested in options if i have them.

The best thing would be if someone could make a mold for them, and pop out copies. They are one of the most (if not the most) popular tires used on muscle cars, and it would be awesome to be able to use them on a model.
