Tony T Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Undecided if I'll attach the uptop or the boot. Other than that, it's done. Here's the build thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23762
Tony T Posted November 6, 2009 Author Posted November 6, 2009 A few more pictures: Added rear bumper bracket mounted reflectors, taillight side mounted reflectors, and aftermarket Ontario licence plates. Comments, criticisms, etc, always welcome!
Foxer Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Great looking bug! Wish I knew of this kit when I scratch build those bumpers for a '68.
Modelmartin Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 That looks real nice. It's hard to make a model car out of that Revell kit!!!!
Harry P. Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 The boot!!!! What's the point of a "convertible" if you use the up-top? BTW... better move it before you get a parking ticket!
slant6 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Looks great. I like it with the top down. I did a hardtop bug a while ago and I wanna do another one with the top down. Great work.
camaroman Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 The boot!!!! What's the point of a "convertible" if you use the up-top? I kinda like the funkiness of a convertible's top up... especially on older cars
CB Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Nice li'l bug there Tony. All the lights look real good . I votes for the boot......and that 57 you gots stashed around the corner. Nice dio too btw
Tony T Posted November 7, 2009 Author Posted November 7, 2009 Thanks, guys, for the feedback, and replies! I'm leaning towards the boot for top down cruising. (The boot fits better, too) The decklid doesn't stay up on it's own, so I didn't get an engine shot with the car finished. Here's a couple with the engine done near the finish. The dio is doing what it is supposed to, CB. Giving me a background to take pics against more than anything, plus I'm doing little bits here and there. I like it, too!
Guest Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 You could use a stiff piece of wire to support the engine cover. Once again, very nice work.
Tony T Posted November 7, 2009 Author Posted November 7, 2009 I thought of that, Lee, just didn't take the time while I was set up to take pictures! I've got some sturdy guitar string that would work.
Tony T Posted November 9, 2009 Author Posted November 9, 2009 Top down motoring it is! The ``down-top`` is fitted!
