Hello Bill - Thanks for the good words on the castings, I am just getting started at the resin biz. but it seems to be going well so far. The best choice I have found for a donor for the Olds is the amt, amt/ertl 65' GTO,,,the chassis is the same part minus the screw holes and the glass fits to a tee as well. I am thinking about casting the engine from the olds kit as I have not found another correct engine for the car if it is to be built stock, whats your thoughts on that ???

Thanks Again & Have A Great & Blessed Day !!!

Hmmm........seems as though the '66 Olds which wasn't out too long ago, should have an engine very close to the '64 save perhaps for the air cleaner.

Also, that kit has the separate frame and floorpan which would make it nice for those that want to super-detail it with fuel/brake lines and such-----but the '65 GTO chassis should be nice for those that want to do a quick build.

Yeeesh Eric, I got one of them rascals of theEvil Bay a while back, an NOW you go an pop one in resin! As far as i know, your one of the few(if NOT the only one) who does one, it LOOKS pretty nice. What kinda resin are you useing? It looks nice, almost could confuse it with an original kit! And YES if you have the original engine, BY ALL MEANS cast that rascal! What good is an Olds WITHOUT an OLDS engine!!!???? ;);)

Hey George - Dont feel bad my friend,,I picked up the kit I copied off E-Bay awhile back after bidding on everyone that came on there for the last 4 years, It was the last 3 in 1 kit issued in 64' that I did not have so I went way over the top with the bids, but now I have all the annual issue kits from the year I was hatched out,,,LOL,,,I am an Olds freak and really wanted to build one but could not bring myself to put glue on the orig. kit so it seemed like the right thing was to cast it in resin.

Maybe I will clay up that engine when we get back from Atlanta next week,,I really want to do the dual superchargers anyway, I think they are pretty cool looking.

These are cast from Smooth-On 320,,,I have some diff. resin ordered but it looks like its going get here too late to get any cast before the show this weekend,,not good as I only have 6 of the Olds ready to go and not that many of the Falcons and very little resin left,,,grrrrrrr, I could have had more of the 320 in just a few days and the other has been coming for going on 2 weeks. looks like I blew it on that one.

Have A Great Night

Eric, I put your website in my favorites, but,I can't find the Falcon,or the Cutlass on it. What am I doing wrong? I'd REALLY be interested in BOTH of them. I've seen how nice that Smooth-On 320 stuff is,it's REALLY nice stuff too. Jeff Ballard uses it in his casting too, looks JUST like plastic! Let me know when your back from Atlanta, I agree with ya, I spent alot of money on BOTH those kits,I AM kinda reluctant to build them, BUT build them I WILL!!!:lol:;)

You ain't doing nothing wrong,,I have not had time to get in there and get that website updated since I done the IH9300 hood conversion a few weeks ago. I will try to get the site up to date before we leave or asap after we get back from Atlanta. Now ya tell me the 320's nice after I order some diff. resin,,lol,,aint that life. I can always pick up more 320,,it dose look good and slick as a babies butt.
