Nick Winter Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Fixed the double post in "Under Glass" Sorry 'bout that! No problem I should of explained better. It was a mixture of blame I guess.
Nick Winter Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) well paint here we come, I've got a few coats of white on it and I'll clear the white, then tape it off and move to the orange. Edited December 18, 2009 by Dukefan69'
Nick Winter Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 it seems it's just me and YJIslander building, I'd love to have some more join-ies, any way here's my update, the body is almost done. I got a set of wheels and tires from my cousin, I was over there helping him work on his '77 ford f-250 long bed, and he asked me what I was building and I told him I was building the Cannonball Run Ambulance, and he said do you have a set of wheels for it, and I said no not yet, he said that thing had mopar steelies right and I said yeah it did, so he said after we finish up the truck we'll head to my shope, he pulled oput of his wheels and tires box a set of steelies from the Revell '68 Charger, he said here take these and this said of tires, so I painted and detailed them and popped them into the tires. Anyway I pealed off the tape and found some bleeding and a run that needs fixed, but I touched all the white up and started working on the run. the body after I pealed the tape the grille the light bars the wheels/ tires the body after touch up
Murphy's Law Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Looking good, Nick. The tires and rims will match great!
Nick Winter Posted December 20, 2009 Author Posted December 20, 2009 Looking good, Nick. The tires and rims will match great! thanks Chris I couldn't resist
dwc43 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Calling the 240-R Bronco done (except the front license plate is missing-noticed after the pics). Enjoy! Where did you find that kit at? I'd love to get my hands on one too. I'm currently making one from a stock 4x4 and parts that I can find or make.
Murphy's Law Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 It was from eBay. I had watched several of them go for upwards of $50. I won it for around $12. It sat in limbo for almost a year and a half after the initial paint job. There's a cool website @ 240-Robert.com that has some cool pics and great reference info. If you build one, be aware that the tires are front and rear specific and the lightbar is horrific. Other than that, it's a pretty straight forward build. Thanks for the compliment!
dwc43 Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I've been all over that site you mentioned. Great info on it. Loved watching that show when I was kid. Too bad it did not last long.
Nick Winter Posted December 21, 2009 Author Posted December 21, 2009 Thanks to Bob Bauman I opened up a box today and found a interior tub stuck to a chassis and two revell 1/32 scale Kenworths. I managed to pry off the 32 year old glue and have started cleaning it up.

Nick Winter Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Here's one on evilBay. Wow $9.00 that's a freakin' sweet price.
dwc43 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Here's one on evilBay. Thanks. I looked the other day and did not find one. Maybe I used the wrong search word .... lol.
Nick Winter Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Well here's my update. I built and painted, and installed exuast, also built, painted and installed a drive shaft.
Nick Winter Posted January 12, 2010 Author Posted January 12, 2010 Well look what showed up today fella's
Nick Winter Posted January 13, 2010 Author Posted January 13, 2010 Well decals are done now it's assembley.
James Flowers Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 What I'm building and where I'm at... The body: The interior with scratched equipment (the scuba tanks are aluminum tube with Model T headlight buckets): The AeroDynic lightbar swiped from another kit with alley lights added on: Basic chassis with white rims instead of chrome (matches TV truck): Quick video from the show: <a href=" target="_blank">240-Robert opening</a> Why would you use the wrong year Bronco? When there is a model of a 78,79 one out there.
dwc43 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 In his defense, that is the truck that comes in the 240 Robert Kit. I'm making one from scratch sorta from a different Bronco, but I'll have to see if I can cut the sunroof in it to get it exactly correct.
Nick Winter Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 Well my ambulance is done Check here for more pictures: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=25735
Jordan White Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I'd like to join in with this. Lemme guess...a 70's fullsize Chevy crashing through water jugs? What movie/show is that from?
Murphy's Law Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) I'd say Hunter... As far as using the "wrong year" Bronco on my build, you may have heard the old saying "Run what you brung?" The body was molded with the fender mud guards in place and the dual tire carrier. And it's just a hair bigger than 24th scale, IMHO. Nick, looks good. The graphics laid down really well. You might want to paint the inside of the body to match the interior on your next build. I think your skills are really coming along, dude! Edited January 16, 2010 by Murphy's Law
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Lemme guess...a 70's fullsize Chevy crashing through water jugs? What movie/show is that from? It's a '74 Impala. It's from Problem Child.
Jordan White Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 It's a '74 Impala. It's from Problem Child. Looked on IMDB, seems like an interesting movie...I'll have to check it out sometime.
