This build was based on using an old Cheez Cast resin body of what was marketed, at the time, as an Opel Pro Mod body. The body doesn't quite suit itself for the pro mod ranks but better resembles something run in the sportsman categories, either Super Gas or Super Comp.

The chassis was a cut down version from a Revell 55 Chevy pro sportsman kit. The rollcage was scratchbuilt using styrene tubing.

The engine came from the Revell kit along with resin cast valve covers and Protech resin carbs.. The suspension pieces also came from the Revell 55 kit.

The wheelie bars were scratchbuilt using aluminum tubing. The markings are strictly fictitious using a myriad of Slixx decals and Testors paint. The finish was covered with five coats of Duplicolor acrylic enamel clear and rubbed out.

I am including a link to the build album for anyone wanting to see more photos.

I knew you'd make something fantastic out of that thing. Good thing you ask if I still had it, otherwise it would still be taking up space in my garage.

Fantastic build as always Wayne.

Beautiful job, Wayne. That looks great. That is the first one I have seen built which is especially gratifying since I made the master model for Tim at Cheez-cast. I didn't see a nickle out of it. Oh Well!

Over the top.....I think it could use BIGGER rear tires :D:P

Those rear tires are actually the rear slicks from any Revell top fuel or funny car so it gives you a pretty good persepctive of just how small an Opel GT really is.
