Here's something I am working on to go with a 900L hood, I think it would make a great dump or logger or ??? I should have it done soon, working on the interior tub now. Let me know what you think about it.

Nice, is that Plaskit?

Nope, it's AMT / Ertl,,,I am converting it from a T600 cab to cast out of resin to go with a W900L hood I will be casting to go with it, or you could use a T600 hood on it as well, I will also be offering a T800 hood that will fit it.

I hope to have them and the 900L hood on my web site in a within a week or two. I have a Daylight cab/studio sleeper now but it is not one that I mastered, bought the molds for it to get the 900L hood/mold. I have some of those cast now but not on the website yet.

I'm interested, too.

Hey Jim, I will post some pics of the resin on this thread when it is done so stay tuned. Claying up some other parts today, the molds for the IH9300 conversion gave out so I have to get it back up and running have a waiting list on those.

Eric, thanks. You might want to check your references on the door latches. I don't think the "house style", for lack of a better term, is used on the daylight doors. I'm pretty sure they're rectangular.

Those studio sleepers look really nice. They definately look nice with the W900L hood. Would they work with a T600 hood?

Hey Jim, Thanks for the heads up on the door latches, I have not found a good enough pic yet on-line to tell but I will find out for sure and if they are diff I will correct it before I make any molds. WIll have to find the rectangular slam locks some where, I know I don't have any here. You know where to pick those up ???

The T600 hood fits the Stuido Sleeper cab to a tee, I am sure who ever mastered it used a T600 cab for the base of the project. The thing has a few issues but it is useable, I am gona use the mold up and master another one if I recast it. The sleeper is not quite right, a bit longer on one side then the other.

Nice Job. Jim is correct about the door latches. If it has Daylite doors, it had the rectangular latches. I owned one and drove several as company trucks. That's the way they were. I'll be looking to pick one or two up myself. You did a nice job.

Thanks Ray, I will try to come up with the correct ones and fit them to the doors. The stuido has the incorrect ones in it then, so that is another issue with it and whoever done it cast them in the doors, I think I am going to leave them out, would be much easier to paint or foil them as seperate parts I think,,,whats everybody elses thoughts on that. Cast the latches in place or as seperate parts ???? Any input is more than welcome. ;)

As far as the small compartment doors on the sleeper, those are fine. The ones on the driver and passenger doors are the ones that need to be corrected. If I find any pix of my old truck's doors up close, I'll send them to you.

Here is the 2002 T600 I used to own. You can see both handles in the pic.

Hey Ray

Thanks for the pic. The door latches look more square than rectangular in the pics, is that so or just the angle of the pic ???

Wow; Haven't seen the studio in a while.....I didn't realize how much it had been reworked over the last couple years; as I haven't seen one for some time...it is nice to see that the interior patterns were kept though....that was alot of work..........matt

I know of a member here that is working on photo-etch door latches for the Kenworth cabs. All styles of the slam-lock. Hopefully we'll see something this Spring.

The chrome rectangular slam locks that Don Mills sells would be just what you need for the doors on your cab. He has them for sale on Ebay all the time. You get eight of them in a pack. Very detailed and the chrome finish is really nice!

Still waiting on those blasted slam locks !!!! Wish they would get here I want to get this one out of the way.

Really? That's cool. I'll be keeping an eye out for that. I've been hoping someone would do the KW locks.

Those slamlocks look more accurate. Much better. Now, I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a darn thing about resin casting, but I think y should plug the holes for the mirrors. Unless you are planning on providing specific mirrors with the kit. If I remember correctly, the T600/T800 use dfferent mirrors than the W900. Just a thought.
