gasman Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I'm building AMT's 1966 Olds 442 convertible. is Tamiya's XF-6 Copper close to the bronze they painted the engine in back than?
Harold Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 On mine I used Tamiya Gold Leaf, as the engines were gold, hence the term "Golden Rocket".
CAL Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I agree who has worked on the real deal, and it was more gold than bronze.
MikeMc Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Heres a Joe Mondello rocket looks to be correct color
charlie8575 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 I'd say Testor's copper comes pretty close. Maybe add a drop or two of gold to brighten/yellow it a little, but that basic paint will, I think, get you in the right direction. Charlie Larkin
