Jon Cole Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Help me out here, if you can. I would like to build a '57 Belvedere. I know the Modelhaus makes a grille & headlight for it. What else is different from the '58 Fury by AMT? No need for 100% accuracy, as I want to build the Tulsa "Miss Belverere" from 2007. I do know that lower grille is visible, what else would I need to get a reasonable five-seven Plymouth? Thanks!
charlie8575 Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Jon: If the headlights are included in that setup, you're all set. The '57s had single headlights with turn-signals inboard. I can't think off the top of my head where they were on the '58s, but I think they need to be removed. Aside from that, I can't think of any major differences. Charlie Larkin
MrObsessive Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 Jon, tail-lights would also be different from '57 to '58. Brake lights on the '58 would be where the back up lights are on the '57. Chrysler for some reason "shrunk" the tail-lights on most models for '58 to perhaps put more emphasis on the fins? I think Don carries the '57 tail-lights also. Turn signals on the '58 were in between the dual headlights...........if you look too quick you'd miss 'em! Other than that, the only other changes would be interior patterns, otherwise they're 'bout identical.
Jon Cole Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 (edited) Thank you for the answers! This project has a chance after all! I suspect I won't have to be to concerned about differences in interior! P.S: Bill, my sympathy on the loss of KitKat. I hope you have lots of good memories. Edited December 15, 2009 by Spyder
