Welcome, Jeff.

Nice '68. Would we be asking too much for some pictures for reference for those of us interested?

I'm curious to see what you did to your HHR, too.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Yeah, my Impala is like a brother to me...my Dad bought it new! Never been hit or driven in winter. Charlie, I have other exterior shots of the car, but haven't taken any interior or under-hood pics. It won't see daylight again now until spring B) Here's a great resource for Impala pics though...

Here's what's slowly happening to my HHR:

I was surprised (and a little disappointed) they didn't offer the panel doors from the factory as an option. I was really not happy when they stopped offering them on the Suburban. Dad was toying with ordering one and that nixed it because my mother can't reach the tailgate.

Are those doors custom-fabricated or are they an aftermarket accessory from someplace? It amazed me how the PT has such a huge aftermarket customizing market, while the HHR, which is conceptually similar, doesn't.

Charlie, I'm building the barn doors myself...like you said, aftermarket support is just about non-existent for HHRs...1:1 and in scale! Hopefully this will change the scale part somewhat one of these days...this is a rare 1/26 scale Road Ripper tether remote control toy that was made in small numbers in 2006. Working on it slowly to get it ready for casting...lot-o-work to go yet!
