cool topic! heres one i built some years ago, of a hoped-for 1:1 scale. but i saw the light and got a toyota land cruiser FJ60 instead!

ESCI land rover 108" wheelbase model i believe, on one of those pretty darn cool prepainted display bases that someone (AMT? Revell?) was selling a few years ago. the land rover has been fairly extensively modified, with interior and some undercarriage scratch build, tires (i believe bridgestone mudders) from Satco (are they out of business? would be sad if so because they provided some super tires!)

Thanx,the tires and wheels are from the old Monogram Hi Roller series trucks. The only problem with them is that they are a directional tire and they only mount one way, so the tires on the passenger side are backwards.

thats i nice rover.. i might have to custom build a display base for the jeep im going to start build here soon i bought a 77 jeep cj-7 Renegade that i want to make into a lifted mudder and i plan on making a scratch built push bar for it and maybe some rocksliders

My Bronco is under glass. There are some nice builds here. I really dig the van and orange stepside. I don't know if this will count here but... The Chevy was painted in all paint marker when I was 16. Not to bad no streaks although I never pulled it off again

Here's one I built a couple of years ago...

It's the AMT Model King '79 F-350. I bought the 49" Iroks with the Weld Mountain Crusher wheels from So Real- sadly, I don't think this set is available any longer. It's hard to see in the photo- but I aso used a Dana 60 front axle. I can't remember where I got the pushbar/winch from.

And I've also done a couple of mud trucks-

Early '70's Jeepster Commando (1/32 monster truck wheels, Ford 429 big block)

'55 Chevy Cameo ('82 Trans Am engine/trans with tunnel ram, IH Scout Dana 44 axles and wheels/tires)

I think your display base is a Revell product- I passed up so many chances to buy one at my LHS and now it's gone!

MPC did something similar with the Jeepster Commando kit- it came with a base, but it was not pre-painted.

The IROK's are still available. I picked up a set off ebay in mid Nov.Too bad AMT got the front suspension wrong on the F-350. They used the F-150/Bronco coil suspension. all F-250 & F-350 up to 1979 were leaf sprung front & rear.

I've never even seen the regular cab Dakota kit- I've got the Club Cab version. Who did that kit- was it AMT or Lindberg?

well im not building the jeep like i thought but i will be building some kinda 4x4 . i went to paint it and my paint was all spotty .
