Railfreak78 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Ok friends, Here is the introduction of the amunitions and general transporter. This can be used for weapons, innocents, water, etc. This is the way I got it. No tracks etc. I'm going to have fun with this one..
jedimastergary Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Nice one looks like it will be a great addition
kasteer Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Finished the DEATH WAGON !!! Hope you enjoy the photos.... Close up of the main guns Gatling gun Passenger side Rear machine gun Top view Passenger side again
Railfreak78 Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 That turned out FANTASTIC! Great job and I have to say that I have always been leary of working with brass but that gun is awesome! I really love the way the sides look overall as well.
jedimastergary Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) Nice one got the motor in my buggy, added headers,Windshield made, front rollcage put on, some weapons made(Axe,Machete) and interior in. Need to decide on main weapons and decide if going to add body panels like roof and small hood. almost done with it then can go on to either a truck idea I have, 58 plymouth think might have frame in box of models orI have a couple ideas a scratch built buggy or salvageing a 55 Nomad and building a war wagon/weapons carrier idea I have. So many ideas and not enough time to build with everything else I have to do. Looked at the death race build off on the site got some ideas also found couple more sites with some good ideas. kasteer Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 That turned out FANTASTIC! Great job and I have to say that I have always been leary of working with brass but that gun is awesome! I really love the way the sides look overall as well. Thank you very much. That's the first time working with brass... just threw it together once I figured out what pieces I had. First time aging/dusting tires like that too. I think they add nicely to the overall look.
jedimastergary Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 Makes it look like it just rolled out of the junk pile they found it in and had a little work to get it running again. The wheels are killer and the guns are great. Right now I have no idea what kind of weapons my buggy will get have to see what will fit and if it gets a roof that is solid or just some fence like stuff.
jedimastergary Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 got the buggy mostly finished just adding gear like backpacks, shovel, rope found some head lights want to add to it should be done today. then going to start working on my 58 Plymouth got some guns made for it and think found the frame for it in a box. have some great ideas for it.
Blake Rogers Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 a guy goes and starts a new job and BAM lol GREAT work and progress guys yes stang you can join i cant wait to see what ur going to do and RAIL that looks sick so far
Railfreak78 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) Ok so call me MR Backwards. I took a truck and turned it into a tank ( 1/2 Track ) now I'm taking a tank and turned it into a 6x6. Now it's time to cut it open! I started but need to make some alterations after the first cuts were made. This will fully open to accomodate people and I'll make some scratch built hand trucks to move weapondry and supplies in and out. Blake I'm just getting started my friend The only bad news is now I need whats left of that Tank you wanted lol. Edited March 28, 2010 by Railfreak78
Guest Mustang3.8 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 a guy goes and starts a new job and BAM lol GREAT work and progress guys yes stang you can join i cant wait to see what ur going to do and RAIL that looks sick so far Thanks, Blake. "Johnny's" '71 Riviera will be flat black with tinted windows, custom "zombie cutter" wheels, and other goodies. I will be using a Jimmy Flintstone Tailspin slammer for the build.
Blake Rogers Posted March 28, 2010 Author Posted March 28, 2010 kasteer looks amazing dude stang ur welcome can't wait and rail its cool buddy great idea there reminds me of the apc thing from a movie that had 3 tires in a triangle frame but looks like ur doing well so far
jedimastergary Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 (edited) What was the name of that movie remember seeing it and found pics of vehicle in search but do not remember name of movie. Started on my 58 Plymouth found the frame for it in a box of models had it the whole time in another kit so got the frame built to the floor pan got the door panels on trying to build a solid tube front axle with no springs. Going to build a dash from spare model parts to give it a military feel. Thiking of either going with tracks or a stock rear axle followed by a solid tube axle so it has 4 rear tires and decided probably going to use the 426 hemi from a 70 super bee with the tunnel ram and dual carbs. Not sure on weapons might build a cannon of some kind. Hope to get a digital camera when I get my college money next month so can post some pics of my builds. Edited March 29, 2010 by jedimastergary
Hornistfuller Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 maybe the duece coupe with sharkfins from "the stand" by steven king? its only in the book. not the miniseriers.
Blake Rogers Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 i love the that book but don't remember the car lol sure why not
jedimastergary Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 got some work done on my 58 plymouth today scratch built dash, rear floor added seats hope to get pics soon going to try and borrow camera from my mom or sister and take some. Working on bumpers, main gun from soda straws I have a question should I do it as a half track/ dual rear axle or single rear axle? I have been trying to decide all day and have not come up with a answer yet. Also it is rust color and black right now would it be better painted a solid color?
Blake Rogers Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 half track!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lime green???
Railfreak78 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Blake SUBLIME is not a factory Half Track Mopar option oh speaking of half tracks I forgot to say I have a name for mine thanks to the pres of my club. He called it" Sub-Urban" I like it
jedimastergary Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Not sue on the color as for the half track idea I am not sure went through parts box and found my tracks are missing and no wheels for any of the tires I have will see what I can make. Also been thinking of trying my first semi truck and might make it a half track will see what comes when I sit down to work later today. As for color I am thinking of a camo paint job with flat black with gray primer and white spots maybe a little rust.
Railfreak78 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I have some left over track "wheels" and some that are broke off the new project. You would have to make pegs for them if your project is missing them. I'll get pics later and if you need them let me know.
jedimastergary Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 I made a solid rear axle going with 4 rear tires after test fitting the frame I made it looked good as a 6x6. found my tracks in parts box while looking for important college papers. might scrap few other ideas as not liking how the plan is going for them. Also might go to better hobby shop in few weeks and pick up some supplies like missles, guns, plastic sheet and tubes my suppliesare either low or out right now. Mabey even get new project going to hit few thrift stores when get money see if they have any models or weapons.
Blake Rogers Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 sounds good gary don't let go of your idea sounds wicked and Brian shhhhh it was available i seen it shhhhh
jedimastergary Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Well last night got interior painted a light blue and detailed the gauges and got some electronics stuff built and was all ready to call it almost done when I suffered set back on 58 Plymouth that stopped all work on it today the rear frame I built and attached axles to is to tall front wont sit on tires going to try and build front frame or diffrent front axle set up. I have shelfed my other ideas for a bit until i can restock my supplies I am out of weapons and plastic sheet also no tubing in supplies so have to put things on hold for bit might try other idea been holding in secret and see how it turns out.
