What happened to my personal messages

As I figure out how to work this new system ( dont like much!) I am getting used to it. However, I have several private messages in my inbox wich has a red X next to them and claim to be deleted? I do not remember deleting thiem? Also, if they are deleted how come I can read them? I was going to reply to someone that I received thier package yesterday and can not due to this reason! Thanks. I noticed it too Jody with my Messages. This change is Weird, change is ok, but I really almost hate this change.

Give him a day or two to get everything worked out. By Monday or Tuesday everything should be running smoothly... check it then.

At the top right corner, by your name. Click on the little triangle and a dropdown menu will appear. Your messenger function is in there.

Harry, will we still get the pop up box that lets us know we have a new message? I hope so,because that was a really cool feature.

Yes, if you have your preferences set that way. It's in the "My settings" option in the same dropdown menu next to your name in the upper right corner.
