Captain Obvious Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Looks good, that's a fun kit! What color(s) are you planning?
JamesW Posted December 26, 2009 Author Posted December 26, 2009 Haven't decided on paint yet. I think I'm gonna hit up some stores next week and see what jumps out at me. I did decide the interior is going to stay white with an accent color of some sort.
plasticfrog Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Love it I've seen a real one painted purple with gold trim cant wait to see what color you use.
Greg Cullinan Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 James its looking good green, maybe Testors one coat Lime Ice.Thanks
Captain Obvious Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 The green is actually the molded color...took a pretty decent layer of primer to cover mine to paint it brown...lol
bjscustommodels Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 sounds likes a cool project keep it up
Pro Lowrider model builder Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I love the soft green color...would look good with gold leafing effects
JamesW Posted December 27, 2009 Author Posted December 27, 2009 I was thinking of just running a coat of turn signal amber over it.
Guest JamesDE Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Cant wait to see what you do to it. I think a nice brown or tan color would look good.
JamesW Posted December 29, 2009 Author Posted December 29, 2009 Thanks J, but brown just isn't a color I can see myself putting on a body. When I get my hands on a 71 Duster it's gonna have to be brown cuz It'll be a replica of my dads first car, and a 79 Ford pickup for a replica of my dads first truck, but those will be the ONLY brown cars I do. LOL
charlie8575 Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Mine will be medium blue/white-and-blue interior and a white vinyl top. I think no matter how you do a Monte as factory stock, it'll look good. For a custom....I'd suggest something like one of the old Cadillac and Olds "firemist" colors with white as an accent. The idea of using the molded green and accenting it with paint has merit, too. Charlie Larkin
