Nick Winter Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 A few days ago my mother was in my shop looking for something bumped the shelf the 'Bird was on and down it fell, the body work was a write off, so it's givin me a very good chance, now I can fix the color of the body and interior, and add more detail. I've just about gotten it back togther. Thought this belonged here and not in the workbench section.

Never thought of saying that Mark, it's ok I've pretty much got it back the way it was, actually better than it was. Sorry to hear of your Pontiac accident, seems like it's allways Pontiacs trying to take flight
FordWagonNut Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Was it the Rockford File bird? Well in the TV show his car was always in the shop for body damage. So I guess your version is living up to its true name.
MikeMc Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 If it rolled off......glue your wheels.......it will stop some wrecks!!
disabled modeler Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) My GTO promo i had polished her a bit to bring back the shine some and while trying to put her back in the case for safe keeping i had bumped a kit box on the self and it fell on top of some things the wife had put in the room.....nether the model box or the item she stored is where it was now. the sad looking GTO is in a box for now....glad to hear your is ok now.yours my have tried to take flight, mine just jumped with out a chute. old pontiacs run so good its hard to keep them still i guess.... weasel Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 been there, done that... i keep my stuff in plastic cases to keep dust away, so, i'm moving some stuff around and dropped the case!!! DOH!!! luckly, every thing stayed inside the case!! nothing broke, just popped glue joints...
Guest arni Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Might it it be a Phoenix as opposed to a firebird? LOL Sorry I just couldn't resist it.
Nick Winter Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 FordWagonNut- In a few episodes I remember Jimbo going to get the Bird or taking in the Bird. MikeMc- It didn't roll, it was smacked, and took a flying leap into my tool box. disabled modeler- sorry to hear of the old Goat Mark, and yeah I guess they have plenty of life. weasel- Ouch, at least in the case your not crawling around looking for the one extremely small, missing part. arni- no problem, that got a big chuckle out of me.
Nick Winter Posted December 28, 2009 Author Posted December 28, 2009 answering machine messages Epsiode #15 of the first season, Sleight Of Hand- Rockford, this is Mr. Dow. If you think I'm going to pay to have your car repainted, you're nuts. You can take your expense bill and stuff it. Epsiode #2 of the second season, The Farnsworth Strategem- Rockford, this is Tony. Now, your car's ready. Couldn't reach you, so I went ahead and put in the new pistons. The tab's $527.54. And this time we're talking cash. Episode #1 of the fifth season, Heartaches Of A Fool - Say, I'm the one who hit your car at Fork City. I've got no insurance, I'm broke. But, I really wanted you to know how sorry I am. If it makes you feel any better I hurt my arm
Nick Winter Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 well some of the real thing as color reference now were I'm at
disabled modeler Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Nice factory color..........the real one i had was arctic white with olympic blue decals and the bird beak was the other detection from the others were.
FordWagonNut Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 It was the '77 or the '78 season. One of the episodes, I think it was "Beamer's Last Case". This guy "Beamer" takes on Jim Rockfords life (uses his car, clothing, lives in his trailer) while J.R. is on vacation. In the starting of the show, they show Jims Firebird getting beat up by Beamer. Later on the show, Jim pulls up to his body man. They laugh a bit for him being on a payment program, since hes there so much.
Nick Winter Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Thanks guys, I remember that guy, he showed up from time to time in the '77-'78 seasons
