Crazy Ed Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I was wandering around ebay this morning and ran into this: _ http://tiny.cc/p1lH8 Ok I'm all for optimism but come on now.......... . If that kit sells at THAT price I just might get an ebay account and do a bit of selling myself !! Ed
disabled modeler Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 HOLY COW !!!! at that price you would have to be able to drive it....it would be fun anyway.
charlzrocks Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Looks like a typo, but even with the 2 extra zeros taken away, $30 bucks (shipping inclusive) is steep for a model like that!
gbdolfans Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) I sent them a question about this. They probably just entered the incorrect price when they listed it. They are a pretty good company and have a very good feedback. If they get the question, the price will hopefully be set right.I think the price should be $22.00,not$2200.00. I sell on Ebay and have done it myself. Edited December 30, 2009 by gbdolfans

Fuel Coupe Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) Ive noticed a trend as of late, At least in the model section of eBay. A majority of sellers no longer allowing the masses to determine what an items end price should be but rather put a high (sometimes extreme) starting price or a very high "buy it now" price and foregoing reserves all together. I'm all for free enterprise so its really just and observation rather than a gripe. I'm sure Model empire made a typo so this isn't directed at them... plus it looks like he corrected the price on it... Edited December 30, 2009 by TxRat
CAL Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 must have been because it is showing $22 + $8 shipping now.
Fuel Coupe Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Ummmm, errrr, not really. That was the first, (& only so far), reissue of that old & great MPC kit, & that reissue is around 14-15 years old itself now. That's actually a not too bad price for it, though I'd bet it one bought it at say a swapmeet, it might be around $20-$25, so without shipping it would be a bit lower. Right $22 is pretty fair for this kit now. But if you are looking for the basic dragster it is disguised as the "Hippie Hemi" that was brought out by round2 this year...
