arick Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Imagine this. You've got the opportunity to participate in what could become the biggest annual model car show ever. It won't cost you anything, you don't have to register and you don't have to leave home to participate or to view the models. The owners of three of the best on line model car web sites have joined together and will be hosting the first annual "Online Model Car, Truck and Bike Show". The host sites are Modelcars Magazine Forum, Scalemotorcars.com and Automodelling.com. Today we are announcing that this event will be held online between Friday October 15th and Sunday November 21st, 2010. Gregg is going to create a special website just for this event so participants need only enter at one site. Due to the ever present controversy over rules, we have kept this event as simple as possible. Here's how it will work: ** This event is not a competition. ** Anyone can enter. You do not have to be a member of the host sites. ** There is no entry fee. ** The event is open to cars, trucks and motorcycles in any scale. ** All models must be finished. ** Maximum of three models per entrant. ** All entry's must be posted on the host site within one week of October 15th, 2010. ** Entry is via a maximum of four photos per model. Photos should be taken on a white background with no props and should be high resolution with thumbnails for web display. ** Description of the model is limited to a maximum of 150 words. In addition to the show, we will be inviting members of each site to post their "how to" tutorials covering subjects like soldering, upholstery, paint, scratchbuilding and etc. If you're wondering about prizes, there won't be any, this is not a competition. However, there will be some Peoples Choice prizes that will be announced later. This event will be advertised on all three sites and at model car events leading up to the show. Model Cars Magazine has publication rights. Gregg will be announcing the web site later in the year. We'll make additional announcements leading up to the event. In the meantime, you've got ten months to build a model for this event. Anyone who would like to donate draw prizes to the event can contact me at "tdr.innovations@gmail.com.
