That's how I've always heard it but an even better rule is don't mix the two at all!

I found out the hard way when doing a candy paint job using Testors Candy Enamel spray paint over...YES...Krylon Silver. :blink: For some reason, Krylon changed their formula from enamel to laquer or something to that effect. I had done another candy paint job with Krylon Gold as the undercoat and it worked fine. The gold must have been an older can as it was enamel based.

Yeah, Best to not mix em at all if you can avoid it.

Looks good,nothing like a 49 Merc to get the juices going.I think with model building the only way to learn is by experience. So your off to a running start,now you have a 55 Chevy to learn some more.Thanks

Good job man , I'm also new to the forums i like this kit its a nice to began with i bit more then i could chew on my 1st build . I'm still learning tons of stuff if you have any ?'s feel free to ask what model kit is this ?
