1/25 Vintage Modified Stock Cars

I'm fairly new to plastic having done mostly wooden ship models over the years and have started to build vintage (for us old guy's) 50's era stock cars.

Currently modifying an AMT 39/40 Sedan. Would welcome any tips for roll bar cages, fuel cells, etc... Also, a source of decals for this era.
