Eshaver Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Brizo, there is a " High - End " toy manufacturer known as Brio . They make several kinds of horses and they can be found here in Richmond Virginia at a place called the Toy Center on Patterson Ave .I don't have Jim's phone or a retail price currently. I just happened to notice the post as I did a project for Mount Vernon Virginia years ago. We were able to obtain what was needed through them . Ed Shaver

whale392 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Also, try Meijer if you have them in Oregon.....they carry the same line as Ed was just talking about (they will be in the toys section and are very detailed and well painted!).

torinobradley Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 If you have a Hobby Town or other larger hobby shop that handles large scale trains (or look them up online) check out their G scale train stuff. The G scale is 1/28th or so and there is a pretty good variety of things to choose from. You may find what your looking for there.
george 53 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 At our Micheal's they have, right next to the model cars aisle (spelling?) there's always a display of little rubber like farm animals in large clear boxes. They have ALL kinds of farm animals, Horses, cows, chickens, pigs, the works. They even have fish, like sharks, stingrays, swordfish,an sailfish. just take you a 25th scale person an match one up to yer horsie, an gallop of into the sunset, a happy cowboy!!!!

Stang67 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Great George! I knew there was a reason I always hung around this Forum. It's for the jokes!

Dave in Seattle Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) Go to Walthers.com and do a search for "Preiser" and then a refining search for "1/24". All kinds of animals and people, and other stuff too. Edited January 22, 2010 by Dave in Seattle
george 53 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Preiser stuff IS NICE, But I din't see ANYTHING that was LESS than 25 bucks! these little horsies at Micheal's aren't more than 2 or 3 bucks. But they look just as good.
Harold Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 The G scale train stuff would be the ticket. Or, you could just get Mr. Obsessive to shrink down a real one with his shrink- ray gun (You really didn't think he built those models now, did you... ).
Stang67 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I wish I was that young again. Old ferris is no spring chicken himself anymore. My daughter wanted me to put that pict in she thought "The Guys" would get a kick out it!
Brizio Posted January 24, 2010 Author Posted January 24, 2010 Thank you for the advise guys! I'll check at Micheal's....
VW Dave Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 One of our local Michaels' stores has horses, and I got one for a project at our sole local A.C. Moore craft store....if memory serves correctly, it was no more than 2-3 bucks. Brizio - If you strike out, I can do the 'leg work' for you here.

Tomorrow I think I'll be able to go to Micheal's and FredMeyers, and see what they have... Today I calculate how tall should be the horse I need... In the real it is around 14-15 hands, and in 1/25 it should be between 2,36 to 2,75in a the tallest point on it (neck). VW Dave, thank you, I'll let you know If I need help!
midwest 1953 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I bought a Clydesdale and a shire horse made by Schliech (sp?) at Target in the toy section for 4.95/each... These are both draft horses, so they will look large in 1/25, but are close to correct.....
