Dragline Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Built with the Fire Fighter reissue. I bought original decals of the MPC kit off eBay thinking they'd be better than the SLIXX ones. WRONG!!!!! They were soooooo thick. My gosh...... The blue didn't meet in the back. But I perservered. The side billboards were a nightmare. It still sits to high on the front. But I'll button that down though it still won't be totally correct. This was a quick build of sorts. Plug wires, shoulder harness and tach wire only. Tamiya Chrome Yellow over Duplicolor white primer. It needs a chute and the hood finished [still looking for a correct snorkel. Any leads?] Glad to have it in my stable. I'm on a Pro Stock kick lately RIP Don Nicholson. Bob
Ben Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Your right! It didn't turn out good at all! You should (carefully) box it up and throw it at the mail man (after you put my address on it!!!!!!!!!!) That snorkle scoop should be available in resin. I'm 99% sure i've seen it but I can't remember where?
Railfreak78 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Thats a sharp looking strait liner right there. Nice work and the paint is real crisp. Makes me want to make one!
RJWood Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Looks great, your paint looks flawless. Here is a link to some snorkle scoops hope it helps. http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/product/CRC-212 http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/product/CRC-212 http://www.scalemodelingbychris.com/smbc_partsp2.htm
Dragline Posted January 26, 2010 Author Posted January 26, 2010 Thanks for the snorkle leads Ron and Ben. I'll look at what they offer. I really would like this to be complete. The pictures are kind to the paint, although it does look pretty good from here....LOL Next time I'm going with SLIXX, just to be sure... Bob Here's a peek at my next project, even though I have a few that need finishing. You know how it is. When the bug hits ya!
