This is a re-release of the old HOT ROD magazine truck. The cab is still split and the tires as well. I wanted this kit forever and was really sad of the quality of molding. Way to much excess plastic and very little detail but that will soon change. I missed a huge step do to I did a lot of body work and this truck looked cool as a beater  so once again thoughts welcomed and enjoy. Oh and those whees are not staying its for moch up only.post-5372-12648306078243_thumb.jpg post-5372-1264830621868_thumb.jpg

i built that one when i was a kid, and recently got it as an unopened kit off ebay. like you said, i was very dissapointed in the details. ive already sold mine and im moving on. im looking for a better detailed cab just like it, and a fleetside short bed to make a drag racer out of it.

Hey Jason, my buddy Mudpit (Toby) bought it for me for x-mas about 2 years ago. Its yellow on the box. Matt yeah this is lacking details and I think the best detail of this body I've found so far is the Mad Mudder truck I'm using for my scratch built Suburban ( In post apocalypse build). This hot rod truck I'm going to do a lot of my own detail work with different wheels and decals from a newer Chevy truck.

Steve that color is beautiful on that truck. I almost went 2 tone blue and black until I got ahold of the decals I'm putting on it. I have always wanted to get one of those 4x4 kits. If they have more detail thats really cool. I owned a baby blue 76 Fleetside I'd like to do up. Know of any fleetside kits?

Brian, I personally really do think those Riviara Lowrider wheels give that truck a freshness and killer look. If it looks that good just mocked up, I believe my jaw will drop when this truck is done.

Here is my update on this truck. it's close to done (kit version) I'm going to do a lot of detail work to make this truck "pop". I did not use the lowrider wheels due to I'm saving those for a 72 Chevy Fleetside I have. I used some bigger wheels from the 99 Silverado and some disk brakes all the way around with a hint of rust (none are clean even new) and painted calipers. It's waxed triple black and ready for more... Enjoy! seatanddash.jpgIntframewheels.jpgwheelshotmirror.jpgpassfronttopphotobooth.jpg

Here is an update. I have not done a whole lot yet but I did some engine detail and a few other things. I figured I would show better pics of the mix of old and new as I have newer name badges on truck as well. Enjoy and happy hobby'n! enginetopangle.jpgenginetop.jpgdangleprogress.jpgChevrolet.jpg1500.jpg
