drodg Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I am in the process of doing the transkit on the 69 AMT Cobra with Motor City Resin Casters formal roof body. The paint color is Champagne Metallic it is from MCW paint. I must compliment Jeff's body and how right on the body looks compared to the 1:1 car.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Nice paint!!! I have one of those in my collection. My plan is to graft the AMT Talladega nose to it and build a phantom Talladega coupe. One of these days...
drodg Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 I have been polishing the paint tonight and this is one of the nicest resin cast bodies I have worked on. It is too bad the AMT 69 Cobra fastback is so limited on detail as far as chassis and underhood is concerned.
disabled modeler Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Nice! I like it better than the fastback! The color fits too...
drodg Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 I wish I would have known about the 66 Fairlane I am pretty close to putting this together. Thanks everyone I'll send some photos after I finish it up.
george 53 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 drog, If I'm not mistaken, Jeff took the dimensions RIGHT FROM a 69 Torino.

Thanks everyone I'll send some photos after I finish it up. The Torino chassis is not bad considering it dates back to the promo/metal axle days. The underhood detail is good until you get to the radiator and windshield washer bottle. The original chassis had its molded in exhaust removed for the Torino Modified Stocker kit. When AMT reissued that kit as the '69 Torino Cobra, they tooled up some separate exhaust. Do some nice detail painting and it will look good on the shelf.
