good idea on the tube! that will definitely make things easy for making custom axles. the steering knuckles look good too. i keep scratchbuilding them from box tube and build them up.

found a set of the Satco Super Swampers on Ebay

for $40!

Dave

Found out another thing about the Resin.

With out glue, the resin doesn't stick to plastic.

The tube slides right out. Bonus points.

another good thing about learning how to make resin parts is you only have to make a custom part Once

Guess we should Em Mas Resins and see how they are doing.

I've seen the Monogram Ground Hawgs for $40 too.

Somebodys Crazy..

You should looking into Casting Resin Dave.

But where I got my stuff from is only on the West coast.

Taps Plastics.

This rig is really starting to look cool as a serious 4X4. You're doing a great job with the axles, bumpers and other details; especially the winch.

The normal CRV drive train is about the least likely to every see service off road. Assuming you are building it curbside, I'd hang a pretty serious looking transfer case underneath as well as some reinforcing tubing for the chassis to give it the appearance that you were only using the CRV body draped over a seriously built chassis and drivetrain. That would make for one cool trail rig. A real sleeper.

2 Thumbs up on the concept and workmanship.

Thanks Alyn

A Heavy Duty T-case is on the way.

One is the Monogram Dodge Ramcharger and the other is out of the Revell Lori Croft Tomb Raider Jeep Rubicon

And I am Revamping the suspension and Chassis supports.

My first set of Knuckles

I didn't plan on making them steer, just look that way.

P3140001.jpg

Paging MrZinn

P3160001.jpg

It sets a bit wide right now since I haven't cut the axle to down to size and built it up to match the Knuckles

And a little more work on the Suspension for more adjustablity :o

P3160007.jpg

I'm using some Nuts and bolts to hold it together.

Don't mind the Extra long pins in the Front Knuckles,

They're Just there to hold it together for pics.

Next I need to build some panhard bars.

and one more pic

Thanks for looking and comments.

What Dave said; narrow the track a bit and it'll look better.

It's nice to see a 4X4 being built by someone that has some familiarity in the 1:1 world. It appears that you know what it takes. I've seen too many off roaders built without a track bar (and no triangulation) or having leaf springs with shackles at both ends. Your bumper and winch really add to this build.

Thanks..

I will be rebuilding the axle from the ladder bars out to the knuckles to give it a

narrower track and more uniform look.

It will have to wait.

I'm thinking about doing a 4-link so I won't need a PanHard bar.

Yes, it can be done that way.

Dang, this was gonna be a quickie too. :o

I've narrowed the track as much as i could and added a power ram for steering.

P3210001.jpg

My steering knuckles all cleaned up and painted

and to make sure I don't have to go thru doing them again.

I made a left and right(right one shown) I cast them in 1 piece

I used the smaller Fujimi disk brake (didn't know they had two sizes)

I put them on backwards since you won't see the front side once the wheel is one

and made a one piece casting but can be a simple fix.

dis Zuki for adding some scratch built details and then offer up a truck with no scratch parts and in the quintessential, one wheel up mall crawler pose no less.

ya gotta love the internet :(

axle bracing is still done look at the 4x4 mags. ya once and a while they do show up but it all depends on the owner of the rig.this CRV is not a pavement pounder as i called them. like dave said if you got nothing to nice to say don't. FYI ur truck looks like a box build to me.
