rolltide Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Sure am glad for global warming, imagine how bad this would be without it.
MrObsessive Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 we moved to a driveway house after someone tried to claim the spot in front of our house, since then my friend and i make a hobby out of collecting chairs or running them over in his 77 suburban You've confirmed by my previous post why I'll NEVER buy or rent a place without off street parking again! I absolutely hate having to argue over a parking space because one house might have four cars!! In fact, the local town here passed an ordinance years ago--------they want anyone restoring a house to NOT turn it into an apartment building UNLESS they can provide off street parking. Too many issues with parking in weather like this when one person in an apartment, might have three cars!
Junkman Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Please find some citations that are in disagreemnt from any scientist not employed by petroleum companies. I am not aware of any Please let me take the liberty to bring the existence of such an organisation to your awareness: It is the NIPCC http://www.climatechangereconsidered.org/ This organisation was formed by scientists, whose research was not 'hot' enough (pun intended) for being considered inline with the political desire to launch the global warming scam on us. May I please also draw your attention to the fact, that the so-called 'petroleum companies' are enthusuastically pushing the global warming scam, not least via their front-crook Al Gore, an oil salesman, since the global warming scam was invented for one purpose only. It opened a completely new field for these predators to diversify into emissions trading, which is another trillion Dollar business. Contrary to the Federal Reserve scam, you don't even have to invest in printing paper - you get filthy rich just by shifting figures from one database to another. The bankers love it.
Harry P. Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Take it easy, guys... As much as I would LOVE to get in on this debate, remember... we're not supposed to discuss politics here. Whenever we do, an argument inevitably results, and this topic is about as controversial as they come.
Modelmartin Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 No worries, Harry. I already said my piece and I am not taking the bait!
James Flowers Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Well I guess we are not done yet. We are going to get up 9 more inches today they say.
Crusader101 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I really feel for you guys getting all that snow, it becomes a daily physical battle merely attempting to conduct routine out-of-doors activity.
beefheart22 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 What's going on here? Alabama and Georgia is getting hammered with the white stuff while up here in the "Great White North" there is no white stuff for the Olympics!? The Snow Birds might be coming from the other side of the border if this keeps up.

Speaking of Vancouver, I've been up there once--beautiful city and surrounding area. Edited February 17, 2010 by Rob Hall

Once did a job in Vancouver in an open construction site about this time or year and I was wearing just a sweater and t-shirt and even that was getting too warm. Rained a lot but I think Vancouver is a breath-taking city. Clean too! Even smelled nice... but apparently there's a neighborhood where the homeless and junkies poo on the needle littered sidewalks. Needless to say I doubt it's listed in the travel brochures. Edited February 17, 2010 by beefheart22

Later this year, I'm probably going to move back to Denver or to Portland or Seattle (all are much better than the Phoenix area for my career), or maybe Charlotte or Pittsburgh (since it's very close to family, and a pretty interesting place).
