Old Albion Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Kurt, Very impressive! I'm always impressed by the quality of your builds. The smooth lines, precision work and detail makes looking at your models a real pleasure. Good Luck with the rest of the build. I will be keeping an eye open for updates as and when you post them. Best Regards Dave
studioman3 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Kurt, I can see why you're happy with this one, it is awsome! Are you using a milling machine to get those parts so perfect? Keep up the good work, I look forward to watching this one. Tim
Turbo590 Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 Tim....Thank you No "milling" machine here..all done by hand. I do have my mini table saw from Micromark I bought a few months ago. I recently started using Ambroid "PROWELD" Old dog..new tricks.... Kurt Kurt, I can see why you're happy with this one, it is awsome! Are you using a milling machine to get those parts so perfect? falcongeorge Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 nice work. Look forward to seeing more.
studioman3 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Oh yeah, I think I remember Jamie saying something about you getting that micromark mini table saw. I gotta get me one of those! I have a mini chop saw that I have set up in a jig that is nice for cutting cross members and tubing, but the table saw would be sweet. You have done great job, all the different angles look perfect! what did you use for the weld seems? They are a perfect touch. Tim
Turbo590 Posted February 28, 2010 Author Posted February 28, 2010 2/27/10 Guy's...Some major changes since the last post. Well, another few layers completed. Reworked some more of the bulkhead area, dogbox is completed, air suspension is coming together, just one of many mockups occurring ...height is now in proportion with the tractor...onto the landing gear and hydraulics...Kurt
Turbo590 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 3/13/2010 Guy's The latest in progress...a few more "layers" added. Kurt
studioman3 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Kurt, that is amazing! Everything is spot on, even the dolly feet are perfect. What happened to the wood rails on top, you decide against them or just leaving them off till its finished? I am going to have to make a road trip some day, I would love to see some of your builds up close and personal, maybe stop by and pick up Jamie if he ever gets a break. Tim

I am going to have to make a road trip some day, I would love to see some of your builds up close and personal, maybe stop by and pick up Jamie if he ever gets a break. Tim Tim, I made some height corrections to the bulkhead, which had to eliminate the top rail boards. Long story, I should have made the trailer walls shorter in height. It still looks pretty good...the landing gear, feet and all, are all scratch built...that was fun Planning on seeing Jamie sometime soon here in the Spring..we'll have to get together. I got lazy on the tool box...I shortened it up, and made my own hinges..now it functions.... Thank you to everyone for the great feedback. Kurt
Sergey Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Outstanding! As I see toolbox lid will have some gas-lift unit? I just made my own ones for a car, using syringe needle. Good luck.
Turbo590 Posted April 24, 2010 Author Posted April 24, 2010 4/24/2010 (Update) Not much to say..other than I "wish" it was done...shinny though!! Kurt
rronning84 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Looks amaizing. A true master of scratch building you are.

SpreadAxle Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 That looks sharp, Kurt. I thought you were going with a blue frame, but it looks great.
mackinac359 Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Kurt, The work you do is simply outstanding. Tim
Turbo590 Posted April 25, 2010 Author Posted April 25, 2010 Thanks guy's Kurt Ray the frame was always destined to be aluminum, with blue accents.
