This is my first model that I built & the dreaded orange peel happened so I got pissed & put it back in the box & started something else. I`m now working on my third model but I revisited this one while I was waiting for the Mustang to gas out. Its no big deal but every build is experience & thats what I got out of this build. By the way now that it's is done I also had fun. :D

Thanks Joe, the color is Boyd's Sunburst red enamel with Boyd's gloss clear. Also I used Perfect Pearls from Micheals which I mixed in with the clear.

I like it, can't see any orange peel, the paint looks real nice.

Is that a photo-etch grill on 'er?

I like the wheels you used, what kit did they come from?

Thanks for posting pics of it. Its very nice work.

It is a Revell kit & here is a shot of the first attempt. Lots of orange peel. The front grill & wheels came with the kit, which turn out to be kool looking. :D

OK, I see what you mean about the orange peel now.

I have all 3 versions of this kit and totally forgot whats inside the box.

Everything you did after the orange peel problem turned out fantastic.

Hey Gary, your Willys turned out fantastic. The paint looks great and as I recall that's your first airbrush model. I love the color, the stance, and the wheels. I guess I love the whole thing.

Hi Longbow...Sorry about the orange peel, put her in the old dip tank and strip the paint off and start over...Looks like you have got the paint thing down on the second one. By the way, If my first one looked like yours I would have been happy :D I had thick runs and had no clue what I was trying to do....The Sunburst Willys Is sweet! :) Mark

Gary, Have you ever wet sanded and polished your paint because you don't have to worry about orange peel if you learn how to sand and polish your paint.Their is some how tos on line on how to do it, you should check them out because you can really save a paint job when they go bad.
