Railfreak78 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I think I'm going to go toss mine in the garbage now Incredible work man!
shucky Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks as always fellas. Small update. Nearly finished with the air filter. I decided to increase the diameter of the 'filter element' by using a larger diameter aluminum tube. Now the base of the filter is together with the filter mounted in place. Also added the aluminum mesh. I punched a hole out of the filter top (not pictured .. its drying lol) so I could detail the inside of the filter. The silver cone looking bit fits inside the filter to mimic the intake venturi piece found on some K&N Extreme filters. This was made by shortening a silver beading cone from the craft store. The filter top trim ring was punched from .005 aluminum plate. Lastly, that tiny white bit is a scratched air flow sensor which will mount on the intake tube later. More coming soon!
shucky Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Finally getting somewhere. I was able to get the intake tube mostly done last night. I mounted the airflow sensor and topped it off with a cable and MCG PE bolt heads. The air filter is also done except the adjustment screw on the hose clamp. Mocked up the tube and filter for a couple pics. Should have this mounted shortly and continue to wrap up the engine compartment detailing soon. So far I'm really happy at how she's turning out.
James Flowers Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I have to agree very nice detailing work on this . Keep the pictures coming.
shucky Posted March 20, 2010 Author Posted March 20, 2010 Just a small update. Some pics of the intake installed. Only a few more detail bits under hood to add then finally time to get it all mated up.
