W-409 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I got idea for rat rod when i was building models with my friend. So body is from Revell's kit. I chopped windshield frame and i lovered grille. I painted body matt black and when the paint was still wet i putted Mig's rust pigment on it. I made a hole to back of the body. I haven't good frame to this, because frame what was in the box i used it to other '29 Ford. I scratchbuilt the frame and painted it by silver and rust pigment. Rear axle is from Revell's kit but front axle is from '56 Ford but i had to narrow it because it was so wide. Tires are first good ones i found and wheels are from Amt '51 Chevy. Brakes are from Revell's kit. Engine is Ford Flathead with speedparts and rust of course . Plug wires are Detail Master's and intake tubes and headers are cotton stick. Water hoses are some electric wire wich i painted by silver. Seats were too low ones so i putted pieces of matchstick under them. Steering wheel is from unknown fifties car and gearstick is a pin with mooneyes logo. Driveshaft is ''a bit'' dangerous place. Driver must be careful. There's no luxury like windshield, shocks, front spring or lights.
Ryan S. Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Nice job on this. The weathering looks great. I feel like I need a tetanus shot after just looking at it!
Sixties Sam Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 That's a wild rusty rod! Nice finish, and I like the eyes on the shift knob! Sam
nails3825 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Awesome job! It wouldn't surprise me to see a few of these around my area, in the run down parts of town Too bad they don't make scale rats, the half rotted dead ones... that would fit right in with this build
