Pete J. Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 OOPS! Waaaaa. p.s. Spelled crustacean. Darned spell check any way!!! or, ah that is the phonetic spelling!
Ryan S. Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 niether is a shark, technically. A shark is a fish: From Wikipedia Sharks (superorder Selachimorpha) are a type of fish with a full cartilaginous skeleton and a highly streamlined body. But I digress, I'm surprised that there arn't more cars named after seafood.
Harry P. Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Like maybe a Mitsubishi Sushi??? (try saying that ten times fast!!!)

Guest promodmerc Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 You all forgot about the Renault Dolphin. Yes a Dolphin is a mammal but close enough in my book.

Junkman Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 But I digress, I'm surprised that there arn't more cars named after seafood. There are quite a few cars named after seafood, but the question was limited to fish. One car that comes to mind named after seafood is the Hummer.
Harry P. Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 You all forgot about the Renault Dolphin. Yes a Dolphin is a mammal but close enough in my book. Renault Dauphine... not dolphin.
Harry P. Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 You trust what Wikipedia says Encyclopedia Britannica agrees: Shark: Any of numerous species of cartilaginous fishes of predatory habit that constitute the order Selachii (class Chondrichthyes).
CAL Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Encyclopedia Britannica agrees: Shark: Any of numerous species of cartilaginous fishes of predatory habit that constitute the order Selachii (class Chondrichthyes). What do they know.
Harry P. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 What do they know. As far as fish, more than you!
CAL Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) As far as fish, more than you! Well just let them keep thinking that a Shark is a fish. Silly Encyclopedia If a shark is a fish why not just call it a Great White Fish. Why do they have to call them sharks? Edited March 10, 2010 by CAL
Harry P. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Well just let them keep thinking that a Shark is a fish. Silly Encyclopedia If a shark is a fish why not just call it a Great White Fish. Why do they have to call them sharks? Because that's what they are... sharks. But they're still a fish. Shark, trout, mackerel, sturgeon, walleye, salmon, tuna, etc. All different types of fish.
Guest promodmerc Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Renault Dauphine... not dolphin. Google Renault Dolphin. http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/1608447210.html I believe Dauphine is French for Dolphin.
Harry P. Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Google Renault Dolphin. http://inlandempire....1608447210.html I believe Dauphine is French for Dolphin. From Wikipedia: "The Dauphine was originally intended to be called the Corvette, but was changed to Dauphine (the female form of the French feudal title of Dauphin) to avoid confusion with the recently-launched Chevrolet Corvette." I'm pretty sure they didn't name the car for a dolphin... which isn't a fish anyway.

CAL Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 4 Pages? And I still say a shark is a shark and not no fish.
Modelmartin Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 And I still say a shark is a shark and not no fish. That's like saying we aren't apes!!!
Guest Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 And I still say a shark is a shark and not no fish. It has gills, and is a fish. Just as a Lion is a cat. A big one, yes, but a cat nonetheless, and a shark is nothing more than a big fish.
Guest Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 That's like saying we aren't apes!!! Sorry Andy, I did not evolve from a ape, if YOU want to believe YOU did, dine, but I did not.
camaroman Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Sorry Andy, I did not evolve from a ape, if YOU want to believe YOU did, dine, but I did not. I agree but you do have to admit, to those observing this thread, we are acting like a bunch of monkeys...
disabled modeler Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi use to date a girl in High School that had a Opel Manta w/ 5 speed, Thing ran good for what it was......
Modelmartin Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Sorry Andy, I did not evolve from a ape, if YOU want to believe YOU did, dine, but I did not. Of course you personally did not evolve from an ape. Individually, none of us evolved from an ape. I don't think we can consciously evolve no matter how hard we try! We are already apes, all born homo sapiens, at least most of us!! We are classified as a primate which is the same order as all apes, monkeys, etc. We share 98% of our DNA with Chimpanzees and 97% with Gorillas. Of course we share 40% of our DNA with bananas and some have the same IQ! I'm not naming names! You can choose to believe anything you want and many folks do but we are ALL just a bunch of tall hairless chimps! Hmmm! I seem to be getting more hairless with age.
Modelmartin Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ok now! How about Cars named after primates?? I know Honda has Gorilla and Monkey Scooters but I can't think of any cars named after primates. I guess primates just don't have the qualities that one thinks of being important in an Automobile like speed, grace, fleetfulness.
