bigmikevee Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Hey John, Wow, this is sure one of your most interesting builds, the color combo is not one I had ever seen before, but I love it, thought I saw this posted before, glad I got to see it again. On the previous comment, I thought I had seen slicks with wrinkles in them after they pulled the cars up to the line or just parked them before they ran, air pressure is pretty low before they do a burnout, heat up and expanded, am I wrong about that? I am an amateur at these things, so just not sure, I thought the way you did them was just right. I sure am glad you post here, it really gives me enjoyment to look at your models, and thanks again John. Mike Edited August 27, 2010 by bigmikevee
Terry Sumner Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Mike, Wrinkle wall slicks can and do wrinkle while at rest. But when they do, the wrinkles appear on both front and rear of the sidewall. When the wrinkles appear only towards the front as depicted on the Chuckwagon, they are indicative of a launch. Here's one at rest.... Hosted on Fotki And here's one under launch... Hosted on Fotki

Terry Sumner Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Now...THAT ..is awesome! I wish more of us (myself included) would pose our models like this... Thank you! May I make a suggestion? When you take the photo with the sparklers, maybe you could set up a fan to blow the sparks backwards? That would be ultra cool! Edited August 27, 2010 by Terry Sumner
Marlowe Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I simply lack the words to describe my total awe of your build. Simply amazing!
Belair2k Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Very well done. Here's Scott Herel's build of the same car. http://www.herelart.com/sites/default/files/images/_MG_8654%20a1.jpg
