Deckerz Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Im september i will be starting another course at college its called 3D desgin art, we get to do welding, airbrushing, casting, everything i like really so once iv got the hang of casting resin i might make a few bodyshells of cars that have not been made as model, for example i want to make a replica of my 1:1 car, a MG ZR, we also get to do milling with CNC and another machine i wan't remember so i will make a metal replica of the engine too. So if any of you guys have requests of body shells that have not been made but you would like just post on here and i might make them and sell them.
Deckerz Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 1/8 scale Superbird. lol i was think smaller scale like 1/18 - 1/24
astroracer Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Sounds fairly ambitious... A college course in processes does not a master make... In order to "cast" a body that no one molds you will have to have a master scratch built... Where are these "masters" coming from? You will also have to have 3D models of your "engine" in order to machine it on CNC... I am not trying to burst your bubble here. I just want you to know this stuff does not pop out of thin air when you are machining or casting it. Mark
Deckerz Posted March 13, 2010 Author Posted March 13, 2010 im not sure what you mean by masters but this college has everything i would ever need, at first i would just try making a resin cast of one of my diecast model then we will see where it goes from there.

Masters, the things you are going to use to make the model. You mean they have the CNC maps for a 917? Or are you scanning it in and just resizing?
