This the wheel?

Yes. It's kinda the 1/25 scale version of the wheels Monogram put in a lot of their kits in the early 70s.

If you want some REALLY good Ansen's, get hold of Bobdude (Bob Dudek). He machines them out of aluminum and they look terrific! Here's a photo of one of his models with his machine aluminum Ansen's installed right from his Fotki site. I can't say enough good things about Bob's work! And Bob is a member here..

Aside from Cragar S/S wheels, Ansen Sprints are my FAVORITE wheel for 60's MuscleCars. Both My 69 Charger R/T an my 69 Super B ran Ansen Sprints, And My 69 Nova and 69 Camaro ran Cragars. i told Joy if she wants to put new wheels on her Camaro, I want my Cragars BACK!!!laugh.gif

I agree George..LOVED those Sprints. I had them on my 66 Chevelle SS back in 1969. Around where I live you weren't cool unless you had the Sprints or Cragars followed by Keystone Kustomags!

I beleive the AMT '65 Rivera has them or something very close, My '74 GTX is wearing them in this picture.

Actually Nick, I'm pretty shure those are supposed to be Astro "Custom" wheels ,,same company that made "Supremes".

The difference is that the Ansen Sprints were all aluminum and the Customs were made from stamped steel with a steel rim.

Ok They look very close in scale though Steve.

They shure do Nick. The ones in the LRE Dodge pickup look a lot like the Customs too. I remember in the '70's and early '80's that the stamped steel ones were a lot more common around here than aluminum ones.

There were several companys making both types too and it wasn't uncommon for each company to have a version, although slightly different in detail of all the popular wheel styles.

I've been trying to get my uncle to sell me a set of 6 lug slotted mags he has for my truck, which is on 6 lug corvette style Rallye wheels, but he won't buge.

Nick, those wheels look sharp on your R/R, but as others have pointed out, they're meant to emulate a 1:1 stamped steel wheel instead of the aluminum wheels I was asking about. Look at the depth of the slots in the first picture (Ansen Sprint) and compare it to those in the second picture. Admittedly, wheel selection for a real car (or model) can be subjective, but in this case I was looking for a rather specific wheel to achiefve a certain "look".
