Kostas Parchas Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Scott S, You have something very interesting there... This rig is going to be outstanding! Have you modified the trailer? Kostas.
Scott S Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 Scott S, You have something very interesting there... This rig is going to be outstanding! Have you modified the trailer? Kostas. Kostas, thanks, only mods to trailer are moving the landing gear to a more correct position, adding a reefer fuel tank, full matching fenders, adding a more fitting set of wheels, (wheels are all wrong in my opinion )and some lighting detail. height issue dosent bother my cause the lower trailer fits the tractor height better anyways. mackinac359 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Copper and black - very traditional colors. Tim
rronning84 Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I like it. Not everyday that someone takes on a challenge like that. Cant wait to see it finished.
Scott S Posted March 14, 2010 Author Posted March 14, 2010 I like it. Not everyday that someone takes on a challenge like that. Cant wait to see it finished. Thanks, thats way i feel, i realy like the retro/modern look, i have a lot of ideas on more of the same concept, i love big petes, kw's freightshakers and the like but (no offence to anyone) their all to common, i wanna streach out a 50's kw, a 50's pete, a cannonball, a crackerbox, and what ever else i can dream up. watch for more.. Scott

Old Albion Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Scott, Great looking truck! What engine have you put in it? I can't make it out from the photo's. Good Luck with the rest of the build. Dave

Good Luck with the rest of the build. Dave Dave, it has a 3408 in it. i had to top half the motor to get it to fit, (the upper part of the casting is pretty thick) i realy just wanted you to be able to see the motor thru the fenderwells and from the under side. once the cabs on it covers things up nicely, and looks complete. Thanks for the compliments. Scott Edited March 15, 2010 by Scott S

Scott S Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Well, that's different. LOL, well thanks, not everybodys cup of tea, just like building things that are a little different. Heres some WIP pic's of the trailer that goes with it.
trick my mixer Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 This one sharp looking setup. I had my doubts when i first saw it in progress but not now. I will be looking forward to seeing it hooked up to the wagon. I have always been a fan of trailers painted to match the truck. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Jim B Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Nice trailer. Should be a nice combo. What kit are you using for the trailer?
Scott S Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) Nice trailer. Should be a nice combo. What kit are you using for the trailer? Jim, thanks, its the italeri 48' reefer, only real mod's are moving the landing gear, different kingpin plate, daul reefer fuel tanks full matching fenders,ROG wheels and tires from another W900 also gonna use the rear mounted airlines under the tractor/trailer. nothing on deckplate but a set of triple airhorns, goin to louisville this week for the truck show, so not much more progress this week.heres 3 pics of it hooked up Scott Edited March 21, 2010 by Scott S
Wagoneer81 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Now there's something you don't see everyday!!! I am impressed! You wanted to do something different, I'd say, "Mission Accomplished"! You've captured a wonderful retro/modern look there. I've always liked older bodies with modern driveline concept, you get the best of both worlds that way, style and power!
Scalper Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Very nice looking trailer. I would paint the mirrors black. love the trailer. color is great!
Scott S Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 Very nice looking trailer. I would paint the mirrors black. love the trailer. color is great! Thanks, i was toying with the idea of black mirrors, but i thought they would look like an after thought, i wanted um to blend in so there not so obvious, working on the trailer suspension, i'm still toying w the idea of building an airride setup, lotta little details i'm working on. Scott
Kostas Parchas Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Awsome work so far!!! I like the rims on the trailer... Kostas.
Scott S Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 Losein the crappy spring suspension, preparein for airin..lol, gonna split the carriage and make it an airride spread axle, with single fenders and tool boxes between tires. here's the begining, more pic's as i tear into it. Scott
