Hey guys, some of you may have read up on my questions regarding two truck builds (International 4400 and Chevy Kodiak/GMC Topkick)in my self-introduction thread below, so I apologize for the reposts but I feel that if there's a dedicated thread, readers might be more likely to see the topics.

This is the second truck that I'm looking to make for an online competition. My main inspiration is this picture: http://www.amickequipment.com/quicksale/MVC-708S.jpg (the description for the picture was "International 4400 Crew Cab"). I'd like to stick to the photo as close as possible - with the 19.5" wheels/tires and plow frame at the front. That said, I am having some difficulty getting dimensions/drawings of this vehicle and also finding possible donor kits/aftermarket parts.

Having never built a truck model in my life, but armed with scratchbuilding experience on aircraft and armor models I think I should be able to tackle this project along with the Kodiak/Topkick.

Any leads are appreciated, again, I'm totally new at truck modeling :(

Both International and Chevy/GMC have on-line BodyBuilder resources. They can be hard to navigate because of all the .pdf files, but you will eventually get to see and print out some pretty good diagrams of

cabs and chassis that you can scale up to 1/25th scale.

Here are some links that should get you to the body builder pages:

https://evalue.internationaldelivers.com/service/bodybuilder/general/Saleinfo/CTDocMain.asp?doctype=ct471

https://evalue.internationaldelivers.com/service/bodybuilder/general/Default.aspx?pageid=2

or my original starting point for these pages if the don't load:

Be patient as the files can be hard to navigate but the pics/diagrams are great once you find them. I built a hood and a chassis using the diagrams printed out from these files. I printed them out at home, and then used to enlarge feature on the library photocopier to scale them up to the right size, e.g. a 96" wide cab should print out to 96mm (about 4", do the math) in scale, so I just kept enlarging the image until I got 96mm on the paper and there was my scale cab

If you plan on biuilding an accurate cab, be forewarned....the rear wall is a PAIN!!!!

Daniel at Plaskit has wheels, and Tim Sherman offers a crew cab. Both should be available thru Sourkrauts.

I didn't see a crew cab version of the 4400 cab. There is only this: http://sourkrautsmodeltrucks.com/?page_id=3&category=2&product_id=5

The only International crew cab I saw was the 4700, which is not the one I wanted to make.

I got your PM though...reply on the way. :)

Got pictures of your work Bob? I'd love to see what you did...

And thanks for the links...I've managed to print out a small stack of measurements/drawings for the truck I want.

The DG cab is what Sourkrauts offers. Its an OK cab, but the interior fit is VERY sloppy, and has very little detail, as it was designed as a toy.

Yeah I had a feeling it wouldn't be usable straight from the box. I just want the overall shape of an International 4400..then I could do all the other mods myself such as stretching it, and such. Were you able to take some pictures of your 4400 masters?

I have recently bought DG cab from Sourkrauts and decided, that I'd rather bought a toy which served a master.

At least I would have more parts for less price and without risk of painting the resin. Also resin have some bubbles.

Here is my review (pictures talk for them selves): http://www.autoinscale.com/?section=article&id=739

By the way, I plan to build red wrecker like on top picture, so I will stretch my cab too.
