Railfreak78 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 I'm watchin I love these little cars I wish I had one Does this style have the "Swinger" style rear bumper?
charlie8575 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Power! Power! Leaning Tower of Power! (Or a nice 318-powered car) Charlie Larkin
whale392 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Rear fenderwells from the 68-69 Dart will correct the too-big-for-stock holes it has going on now. For some reason, I see either a Buzzin' half-dozen and vynil roof or a modern Hemi and slick paint for this kit.
caine440 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 This will be a very interesting project. Is the body from one of the wheel stander kits?
Nick Notarangelo Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) I had a neighbor who had a swinger that was beat and smashed to bits and sounded like a tank with the slant 6 in it I can't wait to see how this turns out. Edited March 27, 2010 by riknight1972
george 53 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 Bruce, If your gonna replace the rear wheelwells with the Dart ones, be VERY careful with the quarterpanel crease lines. They're VERY hard to keep aligned. I tried it and after makein a mess outta one i went an just bought a resin conversion kit from Scake Coachworks. It's a nice very well cast body of a 70 Swinger! Bandit Resins also makes a 71 Scamp kit that VERY nice too. I have them both, and they're very nice kits! Just a thought if you mess up yours.
Space Cowboy Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 Got a lot done so have a look and see. More coming soon..
RodneyBad Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 WOW! I didn't know the wheelwells were hogged out that much. Decklid and engine compartment is looking good. I see your going with an AutoTrans. Looking great
Greg Cullinan Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Wheels or hubcaps? Darts always look good in black
jedimastergary Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Looks like a nice one will be watching to see it done I think a modern hemi would be great in a older Dart with some 16-18 inch wheels.
Railfreak78 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 My aunt's 4 door was a green I call "THAT green" we all hated it as kids and now we would love to find one... "that green" the darker green that looked "kinda" metallic. Anyone know what I'm talking about. It did not fair well here in AZ if not waxed like crazy and normally these cars had a green interior too. Now that you did the body work I realise how far off that opening was Great work so far.
Space Cowboy Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 Got the Dart painted the color is Chrysler Engine Orange with white interior. More coming soon.
RodneyBad Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 The wheel well looks Perfect.. Great looking Paint. Super work.. I love it.
whale392 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Excellent job on the wheelwells, engine bay, and paint. Now, for some constructive critisism if I may take the liberty; you have done said above mods/paint flawlessly, hope you will be working on getting the wheel/tire fitment perfected or it will ruin the whole look of the build and kill all the great craftsmanship you have put into the build so far.
jedimastergary Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Looks great and the wheels look great on it the body color and interior color look gret together.
Space Cowboy Posted April 5, 2010 Author Posted April 5, 2010 I got the Dart done and move to Under Glass.
