doomcrew Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 hello all. this is the project that i am working on at the moment, and will continue it when i have recovered. i used the engine from the revell willys street rod kit, and used a blower and pulley set from scale repros plus. the velocity stacks are from Mr Model, with the throttle linkage from s & s specialties and detail master, spark plugs and bolts are from R B Motion. i have started scratchbuilding the leaf springs and brackets, and made a few modifications to the chassis. the opening in the hood will be done when i have the engine in its final position. i will be using cragar super trick wheels from Micro Nitro, the ones in the mock up pic, are pewter halibrands. colour will be sparkle purple pearl over black. this will be a tribute to the "moving violation" willys i built in the early eighties and won me my first trophy. thanks for looking. steve
jedimastergary Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Looks like it will be a good one when done nice work so far

doomcrew Posted April 12, 2010 Author Posted April 12, 2010 cheers, i can't wait to get back on this, however i have to attend hospital and get plastered i am still waiting for my wheels and i have other parts coming from a couple of outlets here in the UK. other than that i go to Mr Model or Scale Dreams to name two. i have tried to get custom aluminium wheels from JPS but i get no replies from e-mails. steve
dwc43 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I like the build and I'm glad you posted the parts on the blower build. I decided the resin blower pulleys would not do for my old school rail project. With all the other details, the painted aluminum pulleys wont cut it. So, I'm getting a set from the same place you got yours. Will put the order in later tonight after I put some cash on my debit card that I use for online use only. That will be the last part I need to make my build look right. Can't wait to see the rest of your project.
