doomcrew Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 hello all. here is another of my projects. it is based on the AMT chevy wagon rod and was built in 2001 when i was in my first year at uni. since they had a well equipped workshop, i took the opportunity to turn some parts in aluminium. i also scratchbuilt many parts from chemiwood, plastic and metal. body mods include opening the doors, ditching the running boards, pancaking the hood, new light posts and smoothing out the body. this was going to be entered in to a model show back in 2001, but with only the bonnet (hood) to clear coat, the model show was canceled with two weeks to go. i officially completed this a month ago by putting a clear coat on it. thanks for looking. steve

Raul_Perez Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Very nice build!! Can we gat a better shot of the grille? Thanks,
doomcrew Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) thanks for the compliments. raul no problem. here are a few wip pics as well as shot of the finished grill. it took two attempts to build the grill as even though i worked it out on paper, it just didn't look right on the model. i was going to put photoetched mesh behind it, but living on a student loan at the time prevented that. hope the pics help. steve Edited April 14, 2010 by doomcrew
