Going to be an out of the box build using the supplied 2007 Home Depot decals.

The body needs some black on the skirts and some buffing. Used TS-12 Orange on white primer. Some final touches and details painted on the engine. Wanted to experiment with the headers a bit: TS Gun Metal as a base, quick shots of TS Light Metallic Blue, and some TS Gold Leaf, then a quick mist of Gun Metal again.

Nathan, I like how you made those headers look.

As a suggestion, give those pipes a quick blast of Testors DullCoat as a final effect.

Awesome progress, so far!! :P

Thanks John. I took you up on that dull coat suggestion. Have to say I like the result.

Detailed the ignition cluster. For the ignition boxes, I painted them gloss black and then carefully scrapped the tops with a hobby knife.

It took a dip in the purple pond (or in this case isopropyl). Long story short I had an issue with the decals, ordered some after market decals (still the '07 Home Depot). Body smoothed out again. Need to prime it white for the TS Orange next.

Body in the pond *again*.

Got some tires done. Goodyear decals are from a Power Slide sheet and set with some microset, microsol and the shot with a couple light coats of TS Flat Clear when the decals were dry just to set them further and hide the decal edges.

I hope you get those wheels in there without messing up the lettering, those wheels are a bear. I saw a trick one time to put the wheels in first then decal the tires and then cover the wheel with a dime and shoot the dullcoat, have not tried it yet, but it sounds crazy enough to work.

A bit unconventional
