Also, if you are familiar with Italeri's steering in their trucks, the pins holding everything together can be melted slightly with a small screwdriver to hold the parts together, but still be posable.
cowboysevens Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 i have only biult 1/25 trucks, not sure what the differance would be in the width. but i guess i could chop it down if need be. so anybody got any italri front steering axles i could buy or trade for? thanks ; dennis
disabled modeler Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Hi Dennis... You can take an AMT front axle and make it pose-able by cutting the the spindles at the kingpin area with a jewelers saw with a fine blade (after you drill out the center of the kingpin with a micro drill bit) making sure you keep it straight. Then take a piece of fine hard wire the same size as your micro drill bit and insert it in the hole you drilled gluing it at the top and bottom of the spindle cap area only. You do the same basic treatment to the tie rod ends. Ive done this before and if careful it will work.

SpreadAxle Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 This kit has working steering already included. If you're missing the parts, SourKraut sells complete KFS steer axles in both 1/24 and 1/25. http://sourkrautsmodeltrucks.com/?page_id=3
