Wheels Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) I'm building a '78 corvette in 1/16th scale. What size wires do you to detail the engine? Hosted on Fotki Edited May 2, 2010 by Wheels
Casey Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 For spark plug wires, 7mm was a common plug wire diameter for '70s cars, so converting that into scale inches, you get .0172", or 17 gauge wire.
Junkman Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 A 78 GM car would have HEI, hence 8mm HT leads. In scale, the difference is marginal though.
Monty Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Mark, if I can offer a suggestion, you can make that engine more accurate by painting it GM engine blue (I believe Testors offers this in bottle or spray can). IIRC, 1976 was the last year for orange.
