62rebel Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 here's the 1949 Sportsman i built quite a while back, and the companion 1950 i recently did. they're based on a photo i found in an article in Collectible Automobile, showing a coupe with woodie sides, that echoed the 1946-48 Sportsman convertibles.
Jairus Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Very logical use of the wood appliqués. The overall look is quite realistic and in keeping with the Wagon... Nice!
Guest Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Sweet! Nice to see something built as the factory would have.
dimaxion Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 I am guessing FOMoCo did these exercises on paper . I doubt they made it to clay or prototype . Never mind as you have as a complete running car . Nice work . Thanx ..
62rebel Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 the photo i based the coupe on looked authentic enough; it wouldn't have been too hard to fabricate "wood" appliques. in my opinion, it would have been a good seller on the club coupe and convertible bodies. i imagine the package being available as a definite premium level car, and not the base model.
62rebel Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 What happened to my pictures? This thread is practically useless without them.
sjordan2 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 What happened to my pictures? This thread is practically useless without them. This thread is 6 years old. If you moved the original image files since then, they'll now have different file names and not be linked to the image host. You'll have to re-post.
62rebel Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 I never moved them. I don't use file sharing, so they won't be re-posted.
sjordan2 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 (edited) Perhaps you've used up the allotted image space for posting direct to the forum? Edited April 22, 2016 by sjordan2
62rebel Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 And that necessitated their removal from this thread? More bandwidth is wasted by repeatedly quoting posts than by allowing direct posting. I would have thought, once an image WAS posted, it was here for all time.... I suppose I am mistaken about that after all. But, I never took a computer course in my life so I may be absolutely, completely in the wrong....
