trogdor Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 What is the best way to strip a fresh coat of Tamiya paint over Tamiya primer. I used spray cans.
trogdor Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 would that be Isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol ?
beefheart22 Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Or any jug marked 'XXX' (sold behind the drug store)
hellonwheelz3 Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Isopropyl. It's the kind with the red label. I've got my model soaking in 91% isopropyl alcohol. my question is, how long do i let it soak? Sorry if I hi-jacked this thread. That was NOT my intention
Junkman Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) I use toilet cleaner, i.e. thick bleach, which contains sodium hypochloride. You must use an air-tight container though, because the stuff is gassing out quite quickly if you don't and therefore loses its 'bite'. It's available everywhere and dirt cheap. weasel Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 i use brake fluid...strips anything and won't hurt the plastic if you forget it's in the 'soup'...
trogdor Posted May 8, 2010 Author Posted May 8, 2010 Happy to report the alcohol did the job, along with a tooth brush
