rronning84 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 My KW needed a companion and I found this cheap on ebay so I scooped it up. Sorry there are no build pics but I lost my camera for a couple days while I built it. For future reference what is a good paint to replicate wood decking. I think I am going to replace the wheels with white 2 hole budd wheels.
rronning84 Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Ya they compliment each other real nice. Its no lowboy but its not bad.
kingiguana Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Nice work there. As for decking paint, I used a light tan and misted gray together, and then rubbed some black chalk into it. It gives a weathered look. You might have to experiment, but unless its a show truck, it gonna look used and abused. maybe some gouges in the wood ? Once I get my C-900 flatbed combo done I'll post some pics.
mackinac359 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Nice clean build. The AMT Fruehauf flatbed is a nice kit. Tim
huffanpuff Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Like the build , I see you have the truck (tractor) with a license plate but, no trailer plate but, I'm sure you have paper work. nice job.
rronning84 Posted May 21, 2010 Author Posted May 21, 2010 LOL. I ran out of the license plates. I need to find more.
Jim B Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Ryan, Here are some sites that you can download actual plates from. All you need to do is resize them. http://www.moini.net/home.html http://www.plateshack.com/
Jim B Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Glad to help. I've "downloaded" a bunch of plates as well. All I need is to get some BMF decal paper, and print them up.

highway Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Great links, Jim! I finally can put a correct WV license plate on my big trucks! By the way, Ryan, you probably will have to resize them, but not sure because I didn't download any, YET!
Jim B Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Yes, you'll have to resize them. The ones I've downloaed are about 3.25" high x 6.5" wide. I resized them to about .19" high x .4" wide (approximately 6" x 12" in 1/25 scale).
