I have been following this since the beginning, and I am very excited. Thanks for giving us the progress pictures. I know that the build itself takes a lot of time, but to chronicle the build with pictures for us, that is truly great!

Thank you :(

Hey fellas this isnt really an undate its more of a warning. I recieved some parts today I ordered From PFS Hobbys, now Im not gonna tell you not to do business with them because that totally up to you. But I will inform you that they have very poor customer service. I purchased some parts from them a resin hood w/ 4' cowl and some parts for my next project. Thfact that it took almost 3 weeks to get to me doesnt bother me as much as what he said to me via email when I asked him about the order the second time (the second time because i hadnt recieved anything within the 2nd week and no notice on weather or not it had been sent out.)

here are our emails to each other:

Has my order been shipped yet as you have charged me already but I have recieved nothing, not even an email to say the items are on the way. Romell Robinson

his response:

This week is not over yet you are not my only customer.I'm not selling 10 pound gold bricks here in need of constant emails back and fourth Items have been mailed do not bother me again.

my response

When I read your email I couldnt help but to laugh to myself. I am a forty+ year old business man who conducts business via email and other sources daily. I cant believe you would speak with a paying customer the way you have. My only concern was weather or not my items may have been sent and or lost in the mail. I understand you are busy but you must understand that it is my money that has been spent (on your site no less). You need to learn some business maners and treat the ones who are spending money with you like you care about your customers. I would have never told someone Im doin business with " Dont bother me again" you stood to make hunderds of dollars with me not to mention the money you would have made from people I would have told about your site. I am a Pro Modller and hundreds of people ask me where or how I built something. But it seems you have just screwed yourself out of lots of business. Have a Nice day and next time some one ask you about merchandise they own that you have try to atleast pretend you care about your customer.

So take it for what it is. anyway I think i needed to vent thank you for being a listening ear. here is the hood I got from him which is warped LOL! after all that. the P.E. parts are from Pegasus hobbies who have great customer service by the way!

Boy, Romell, reading that, was he having a bad day or something? I hope he doesn't talk to his clints that way all the time. I know when someone emails me about something I always try to get back to them asap and always in a good manner also to help them out. Your right that is no way to talk to someone that just bought stuff from you and are wondering the status of there stuff is all. It really makes you wondering about them.

Half the stuff you do, I don't have to ask you how you do it, I can figure it out just by looking at the photos LOL. But as you know if I have a question that I can't figure out I will ask you though. I'm keeping my eye on this build thread though as I like the work I see going on

Man, I missed all this... That paintjob is beautiful brother... Outstanding job you have done with this... Im glad that you are sharing this build with us (and more to come from your bench, I hope)

Sorry to hear about your dealing with PFS Hobby, you are not the first person I have heard negative things from, and I am sure not the last... I do hope to see you build that Caddy Lowrider kit after doing this.... If you can kill it with that Ford truck and this Chevelle, I can only imagine what you can do with a lowrider... Keep up the great work bro...

here I have the mesh cut to the right size and ready to be installed , but the frame has to be painted first.

Looking sooooo good! Beyond my meager capabilities at any rate. Food for thought. I love the look of the radiator mesh as is. I'm a big fan of mesh. Gonna use it on my Batmobile build for the hood vents. However, for a radiator, even though it's sweet to see through it, might you wanna see what it looks like with 2 pieces? Might give it some more depth and still see through it.

I'd love to be a judge at the first show it hits. Just so I could inspect it up close.

Innovate Romell, it's what you're best at.

Im glad you brought this up because last night after I shot these pics I thought the same thing so I added a black piece of mesh between the two outter pieces and it gave the radiator a more full appearance.Thx for the astute observation. Romell

Romell, if you havent glued the mesh in yet i'd suggest adding in some coolant tubes for that extra detail. some silver wire should work quite nicely. i've only ever done one radiator like that and it was almost 20 years ago! i sent that piece to James2 last year for his '55 Chevy 4x4 build and i was glad it finally found its way into a completed model.

Dave

Dave Im gonna do just that thx for the suggestion, now im gonna have to put you on the list of contributors LOL! ;)

This is amazing work, and I'm enjoying every step. The one thing that keeps hitting me in the back of the head is the name, Rommell. I know it's spelled slightly differently, and likely pronounced differently, but all I can think of is the WW2 German general, Erwin Rommel, known as the "Desert Fox." I say that we have have a new successor; the "Custom Fox!" Aftashox, the Custom Fox. No excuses...my brain wanders too much! :)
