Buford's Bonneville

Hey, y'all.

I'm a fan of the Smokey and the Bandit movies. while watching Smokey and the Bandit 2, I noticed that Buford's "stand in" police car is a 1975 Bonneville and I have decided to build it. Since there is no kit of that car, the closest thing I have is a '75 Impala from the Modelhaus. I have already started the conversion by removing the side trim, Impala scripts, modifying tthe headlight, and taillight housings, and modifying the grill. I still need to make the fender skirts, and fill in the small rear rear window, and modify the back window a bit before I can add some filler and get it ready for paint. Here's some pics of the movie car.

Thanks, Rick. The car will be sitting on the '76 Caprice chassis. The interior will also be from the Caprice, but I will have to modify the dash. Anyone got any pics of a '75 Bonneville dash?

The instrument panel was pretty much the same from 1975-76, the shape certainly didn't change and I don't think any of the details did, either.

Thanks, Charlie. I got a coat of GM gold paint on the body, but it looks like I'm gonna have to re-do it.
