Would like some input for a Trans Am Trans am race car

I've got a extra MPC '79 10th Anniversary Trans Am kit, and it has a road race option, but I'd love to do a real Trans Am style road race car, I figure I run the small block but "soup" it up a bit, I have a kinda cool Idea for a air intake, utilizing the inner 2 headlight buckets, also wider tires, lower it down a bit, build a dashboard for it, Etc, I was wondering if anyone had some other Idea's. also I was wondering if anyone knew how to make the hoodpins that have the cotter pins attached to wire.
