This was an idea I came up with for an old Ford Stepside body and some monster truck tires I had sitting in the parts box. Thanks to Zukiholic (Rodney), he sent me a frame, suspension, and axles, I can maybe finally get this idea in progress. I've got three other builds going on right now, so I probably won't be working on this much until I get the others finished. I did take a crude mock up pic of the idea, I just wanted to know what you think of it.

I still have to dig up the interior, I haven't found it yet, and need to figure out what will be under the hood.

Matt, if I can call you that, that's very cool.

BTW; we have the same clamps.

Thanks, Nick, and yes, you can call me Matt!

BTW: I found a whole bucket of those clamps at Big Lots for just a couple dollars for 25 of them!! I'd be lost witout them!!

Ok, Matt it is, I think I got mine at Canadian tire (the canadian equivalent of BigLots, except with a Automotive department and Hardware department.)

If I knew ya were gonna do that, I might have sent more parts ;)

Sorry, didn't have an extra interior or windshield.

Even the one I'm using is bad.

Thanks, Rodney, but what you sent me works fine! :D The windshied is covered, I'm going to use some clear sheet stock for it, and if I can't find the interior (I know that bugger is in a box here somewhere!! ;) ), I'm just going to make a tube rollcage and flat floor for the racing seat. There's no prototype I'm basing off of, no rhyme or reason to the build. It just going to be parts I collect from my parts box, and in the case of the frame and suspension, YOUR parts box!!

By the way, you might be watching for a while, I have to get the other three projects I'm currently working on off the desk first!! ;) I was just playing around with the parts last night and figured I'd do a quick mock up.

Well, I gotta keep everyone guessing, don't I!?!? :lol::lol:

I'm not really that sure what scale it is Chris, I think it may be a cab from one of the old Monogram High Roller kits, so I'd guess 1/24 scale. I might just have to see what parts you might have, because I'll be darned if I can find the interior! For all I know, it might still be in my friend's parts box I robbed the cab from!:lol:

revell did that kit in 80's theres one in black too i have a old glue bomb that got the same truck..

It's strange you would bring this thread up today (well yesterday now  ) Todd, I actually had this one off the shelf for a little while looking at it! I was throwing around the idea of using the frame from an old USA-1 I got in a trade and shortening it to fit this truck, or possibly rebuilding the Chevy for a Ford VS Chevy battle, with the Ford winning of course!

By the way Todd, if you would be interested in getting rid of your gluebomb, PM me. I might need an interior!

It looks like the old quadzilla monster truck, i have the quadzilla truck, but i would like to make it a regular 2 wheel drive truck or a regular 4x4,

Posted

im going to do a 4x4 street truck out off it sorry matt : :mellow:

Not a problem, since I haven't got any real plan with this yet, I might not even need the interior! I might just make a rollcage and a seat.

hows it going one seat would comine in old school monster truck world. roll cage whould look good too

Well, it's going very slowly!!

I haven't worked on it since the first mockup when I started this thread, too many other projects are in the way. If it sits on the back burner much longer, it will be burnt to a crisp!!
