Zhu Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) My first builds in about 30yrs. The kits were given to me by my children as a way of keeping me out of trouble. The Ford was the first build. It is sprayed Black with an airbrush by a friend. Secondly, the Corvette, all my own work this time. The paint is from a aerosol I picked up at a local garage. Please excuse the amateurish quality of these pictures, but I hope you like them just the same. Dave. Edited May 21, 2010 by Dusty
Monty Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Those are great. A classic old Ford and a '70s 'Vette. As a Corvette owner, it isn't hard to get me to look at models of them, especially the C3s, but the color you used on that Ecklers version really makes it stand out. We'll take more pics whenever you're ready.
outlaw035 Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 welcome back dusty...nice job on both....and u coulda painted the ford cause the vette looks grt8....
Harry P. Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Not bad for coming back after a 30 year "vacation!" By the way... the photos aren't bad at all... no need to apologize for them.
crazyjim Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Doesn't appear that your skills were rusted by 30 years of not using them. Nice builds.
Zhu Posted May 17, 2010 Author Posted May 17, 2010 Thank you for commenting on my models gentlemen. Your observations & encouragement are generous & greatly appreciated. I joined a model club a few months back & members there have helped me immensely. There is a feeling of friendliness & camaraderie among modellers that I’ve not experienced elsewhere. I remember attending model shows in the `70s where builders were reluctant to share their tips & techniques; I’m very pleased to see that part of the hobby seams to have disappeared. I’m hoping to attend a model show with my club mates in the next few weeks, I’m sure it’ll be a whole new experience. I better start saving now. Dave
Raul_Perez Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Both builds look fine, Dave!! Keep up the good work and keep posting!! Later,
sigmaman Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Your models are great. Your photography isn't too shabby either.
